Emma Watson at the HBP NY Premiere

I ended up joining the screaming crowd of fans for the HBP New York premiere! There were fans who had flown in from the Midwest, fans who had waited six hours only to squeeze into the second row, etc. The red carpet was across from us, and Tom Felton and Emma Watson were the only ones to go off the red carpet to sign autographs. (Bonnie, Rupert, Dan, and Alan did turn around and wave hello after a bit of chanting from the other side, ha.) Aside from the trio + Bonnie + Tom + Alan Rickman, I also spotted a couple randoms like Kelsey Grammar, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Lance Bass (lol whut).

I love her outfit, especially the flowers in her hair!

Yeah, these photos are two months overdue. Back in Feburary, the Met had an exhibit called "Art and Love in Renaissance Italy", but like most special art exhibits, there was no photography allowed. I wish I had photos though, because there was some beautiful stuff!

Anyway, I don't think I've ever posted photos of the Met museum before (I've covered MoMA at least twice). I thought I'd share with you some works that I found lovely/inspiring in one way or another. I feel really lucky to be only a subway ride away from all these wonderful works of art. This reminds me, I need to go again before school ends this year.

Two days ago: Chinatown for dimsum, bubble tea, parade, and ice cream. And confetti that stuck to my clothes and hair and shoes. And firecrackers that went off every second.

Chinatown/parade photos! )

It was such a nice day for a parade. Too bad I can't exactly say the same about today. I get it, it's February and since it's the northeast, the weather ought to be bad. But bad weather (rain + snow) does not a happy Cindy make.

♠ If we are not friends on Twitter already, perhaps we ought to change that.

♠ And I might do a photo meme, like the give-me-things-to-take-pictures-of one. And that 25-random things meme bandwagon on Facebook.

♠ I hate our suite TV for being analog and just crappy in general. Seriously, what gives. We had to buy an adapter for the XBOX, and now that everything is digital, all the channels are fuzzy and it looks like I'm going to be missing out on some eps. What a useless thing. It's dangerous too! There's a piece of plastic near the screen that's come apart and I nearly cut my hand on it.

♠ On Friday, I bought a bag of celery, and I ate half of it over the weekend. I could have sworn I put it back in my fridge, but when I tried to finish it today, I couldn't find it. I hope it's not hidden in the mess that is my room, because ... imagine uncovering rotten veggies in your laundry or homework pile.

♠ My quest to watch all the Oscar noms is making slow progress. How are the following: Frost/Nixon, Rachel Getting Married, The Reader, and Frozen River?

So for my Art Humanities class, I had to formally analyze any piece in a New York gallery. I ended up going to MoMA last weekend, because I thought it'd be neat to try dissecting a Picasso piece. And plus, there was a really cool Painting and Anti-Painting exhibit on Joan Miro and a Van Gogh and the Colors of the Night exhibit. I did get to check out the former, which was absolutely awesome (despite the prohibited photography rule), but for the latter, you actually had to get tickets that were free but timed. I got to MoMa early in the morning hoping to get a ticket but the next possible ticket was for 3pm! D:

Anywho. My photos, let me show you them. There's a lot of Picassos; I kid you not. And a couple recognizable pieces.

Okay! Two more papers and I am DONE ... with just the papers, that is. I've still got exams to study for. Reading week starts next week! Expect either a giant hiatus or a massive outpouring of posts in the name of procrastination. Or maybe just somewhere in between.

P.S. I read Tales of Beedle the Bard yesterday and I LOVED IT. My favorite is "The Fountain of Fair Fortune", what about you?

P.P.S. wishlist and keep me updated on card/wishlist posts of yours!

In the past 24 hours I have:
¤ biked 150+ blocks from Harlem to Financial District to Brooklyn --- at midnight, in forty-some degree weather --- and loved every minute of it.
¤ seen the view from Brooklyn Bridge --- for the very first time.
¤ biked through Central Park, this time during the day.
¤ eaten a huge Shackburger at Shake Shack, a large serving of pancake flavored frozen custard (YES, pancake. No, I had no idea they made such a flavor!), a basil-and-goat-cheese scone, a huge cup of Earl Grey tea, a huge chocolate-chip-and-walnut cookie, salad, brie, way too many bread loaves, beer bread, cake, and I don't know what else in the span of six hours. Calories, ye be damned.
¤ bought a new skirt!
¤ made my wallet cry.

But despite my current bloated state of being and empty wallet, I've rather enjoyed the past 24 hours. And now I really want a bike.

Anyway, that was today. So er, I'll talk about last weekend. For Arthum (Art Humanities), our class went to the Cloisters, which is the part of the Met devoted to medieval art. It's way uptown (think beyond 190s), so I rarely ever go. I never realized how pretty Fort Tryon is during a fall afternoon! And the art/architecture is really worth a look.

Now I'm debating whether or not to get a flickr Pro ... oh, and on an unrelated note, who's doing NaNoWriMo?
